School Census

 

The autumn school pupil census will take place on Thursday 02 October 2025.

All census returns from summer 2026 onwards will be carried out in SIMS Next Gen.

 

Preparation and Completion guidance will be available to subscribing schools before this date.

 

​Census submission deadlines

 

The census should be carried out on Thursday 02 October 2025.

Submission deadlines for schools that have their data checked by their local authority

​

Leicester City schools - 16:00 on Friday 03 October 2025

 

Leicestershire County schools - 16:00 on Monday 06 October 2025

 

Other schools/Academies responsible for their own submissions - Submit your returns to the deadlines set by your LA or your trust - the DfE deadline for the return to be uploaded and submitted is Wednesday 29 October 2025 - please check in school for your submission deadline as this may be before this date.
